National Chair To Keynote
National chair Nicolas Sarwark will be the keynote speaker at the 2015 Annual Libertarian Party of North Carolina Convention Saturday, April 11. His address will be titled "Show Up, Be Nice, Win."
Born in 1979, Nicholas is an unabashed, second generation Libertarian with a strong commitment to fighting on the party’s behalf against unfair ballot access obstacles and exclusion of qualified candidates from public debates.
Panel Discussions
“Winning Elections in North Carolina,” featuring: Rachel Mills, campaign manager for Sean Haugh's U.S. Senate campaign; Jason Joyner, campaign manager for Wesley Casteen's 7th Congressional District race; Jonathan David Baird, a Burke County soil and water conservation district supervisor, and others TBA. Moderated by Thomas Hohman, Chair of the Union County Libertarian Party and multi-time Libertarian candidate.
“Lend Me Your Ears”—Several organizations whom we are actively working with—or might consider working with—are invited to (briefly) let us know what they are doing and how we might cooperate…so far, the ACLU, GRNC, NC Stop Torture Now, Moore County Tea Party, and the Republican Liberty Caucus are all slated to appear.
Banquet Speaker
John Davis, a North Carolina political analyst and author of the John Davis Political Report, is an authority on evaluating candidates, with a 92 percent forecast accuracy of nearly 1,500 races since the 2000 election. Campaigns & Elections magazine honored Davis as one of North Carolina's Top 10 "Political Influencers" in 2012.
Registration Information
Please pre-register to facilitate credentialing. You must pre-register by no later than Monday, April 6 if you want to attend the Gala Banquet (or order a box lunch for Saturday). Those options will not be available online after midnight April 6.
Gala Banquet choices include honey citrus pepper glazed chicken or pasta primavera (vegetarian) or salmon with a lemon dill cream sauce. Entrées include salad, sides, and dessert.
Attendance at the business sessions for LPNC members is free. This includes elections, considerations of bylaws changes, etc. We're asking a $5 donation for registration simply because the Nationbuilder platform requires us to collect some money in order to use the registration system. This is refundable upon request at the convention
Business Pass holders are not entitled to attend any events except for the post-Gala speech and auction Saturday night.
High school, college, and graduate students are eligible for the “student” rate. If you can do so, please consider purchasing an extra student pass or passes. We'll award them on a first-come, first-serve basis to scholarship students.
Auction CANCELLED
Immediately following the banquet Sean Haugh will conduct our annual LPNC Auction featuring all manner of hard-to-impossible-to-find libertarian-themed must-have goodies. If you have an item you wish to donate for the Saturday post-Gala Banquet auction, please contact us.
