Bob Drach For North Carolina Auditor

Bob Drach is your best choice for North Carolina's State Auditor. As a former Certified Management Accountant, he has experience in financial reporting, information systems management and organizational leadership -- over 20 years combined in the public and private sectors.

The State Auditor protects the citizens of North Carolina from abuses of power and instances of incompetence that unfortunately happen in government. Because the government is dominated by Republicans and Democrats, it would be unwise1 to have a Republican or a Democrat as the Auditor.

Bob is currently the Treasurer of a private company in Charlotte. He has earned multiple professional certifications2 and taught in the public schools. He is uniquely both a former Peace Corps volunteer and graduate of a highly competitive MBA program.

Throughout his career, Bob has exemplified the character, honesty, and diligence which take good organizations and make them great. This is important right now for the Office of the State Auditor, rocked by the resignation of the prior elected auditor under a cloud of disgrace and with the unelected incumbent installed by the state political machine.

While Bob was a member of the New Hanover County Board of Equalization and Review, he routinely applied the facts in each case to the specific concerns of appellant citizens, respecting the work of the professional staff while giving the benefit of doubt to the appellants when appropriate. Extending this experience to the Office of the State Auditor, Bob will focus on retaining the excellent audit staff while recruiting additional talent to open positions. Continuity on key investigations is critical, while also emphasizing performance metrics that highlight transparency and activity.

1 unwise, as in: an apparent conflict of interest, problematic, the fox guarding the henhouse, and generally a bad idea. Major party voters who care about the integrity of the office can admit as much and should vote for Bob, while unaffiliated and third-party voters have a great option to vote for Bob.
