The Libertarian Party of North Carolina take your privacy (and ours) very seriously. To quote from our platform:
The LPNC opposes any attempts by government to collect information on the people, except in the constitutionally required performance of its duties. All personal information gathered by government must be kept confidential, and not used or shared except directly for the purpose for which it was gathered.
Information We CollectUser-Provided Information: You provide us information about yourself—such as your name or e-mail address or account ID name—if you register for an lpnc.org account, interact with our account on Facebook, follow our account on Twitter, or link your account to ours on any other third party website or network. If you correspond with us by e-mail, we may retain the content of your e-mail messages, your email address and our responses. We may also retain any messages you send through www.lpnc.org. You may provide us information in user content you post to www.lpnc.org.
Third Party Services: The LPNC uses the NationBuilder platform to organize our community of members, supporters and prospects. You can read more about that company and its features and polices at NationBuilder.com. When you visit www.lpnc.org, NationBuilder may send one or more cookies—a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters—to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets NationBuilder help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through www.lpnc.org. A cookie does not collect personal information about you; however we do employ cookies to collect analytic information in aggregate. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of www.lpnc.org may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled. You can read more about how the NationBuilder service interacts with and protects your information at nationbuilder.com/privacy and nationbuilder.com/confidentiality.
How We Use Your Information: We use the personal information you submit to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of www.lpnc.org.

Or alternately there is an unsubscribe option in each e-mail blast message we send.
Following termination or deactivation of your LPNC account, the LPNC may retain your profile information and user content for a reasonable time for archival purposes. Furthermore, the LPNC may retain and continue to use indefinitely all information (including user content) contained in your communications to other users or posted to public or semi-public areas of www.lpnc.org after termination or deactivation of your account. The LPNC reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor the user content you post on www.lpnc.org or any of our third-party sites or pages. We reserve the right to remove any such information or material for any reason or no reason, including without limitation if in our sole opinion such information or material violates, or may violate, any applicable law or to protect or defend our rights or property or those of any third party. The LPNC also reserves the right to remove information upon the request of any third party.
If you make a donation to the LPNC, the information we—and all other political parties—are required to collect will be reported to the North Carolina State Board of Elections in accordance with state election laws. However, we will not share this information with any third parties except official representatives of LPNC-affiliate parties and campaigns of Libertarian candidates running in North Carolina who have executed a non-disclosure agreement. We do not store payment information (such as credit card numbers) for individuals making online contributions (other than the transaction amount and processing company, e.g. PayPal).
We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of the LPNC (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers).
Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to www.lpnc.org, such as user content, becomes available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy or website customization settings. If you remove information that you posted to www.lpnc.org, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or if other users have copied or saved that information.
How We Protect Your Information: The LPNC cares about the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to the LPNC or guarantee that your information on the service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. Your privacy settings may also be affected by changes to the functionality of third-party providers, such as social networks. The LPNC is not responsible for the functionality or security measures of any third party.
To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email communications from the LPNC, at all times.
We have policies in place, including requiring any staff and volunteers to execute a non-disclosure agreement, to ensure that only appropriate people have access to stored personal data.
Your Choices About Your Information: You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through www.lpnc.org, in which case the LPNC may not be able to provide certain services to you. You can review and correct the information about you that the LPNC keeps on file by contacting us directly at email@example.com.
Children's Privacy: Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, the LPNC does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register for www.lpnc.org accounts. If you are under 13, please do not send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 is allowed to provide any personal information to or on www.lpnc.org. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
