Tar Heel Libertarian - March 2025

Volume 4, Issue 2 | March 2025

"The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities." - Ayn Rand

In this Issue...

March has come and gone, but the madness remains. One day we're in a trade war, the next day it's a hot war, though we never declared it. Government surveillance techniques are getting more sophisticated, and all our officials are climbing over each other to find new ways to justify it. In a five-month span, both sides of the uniparty have both supported and attacked the same budget based on who was in office, with no hint of irony. Thomas Massie might be the only person in the entire federal government who has principles.

Against a backdrop of spreading collective insanity, we are bringing you another excellent edition, including voices from the Liberty movement outside of NC this time to reflect the universality of the principles of Liberty. We feature two popular bloggers reflecting on minimum wage and social degradation, and we have a guest article from Reason Magazine looking at federal overreach with NC red wolves.

Senate candidate Shannon Bray explores why continued prohibition on cannabis is absurd, Trevor Miles and Kim Acer give updates and some inside baseball on county conventions and podcasting, and Comms Director Rob Yates looks at where America is thriving contrary to popular narratives, and also drops a new book review.

Matthew Kordon, who is becoming a popular regular contributor to the Tar Heel, shares some thoughts on the libertarian approach to protecting the environment, and Blast from the Past features a 2013 article from Brian Irving - one of the very first published on the LPNC website. We round out this edition with a new Liberty Babes picture and quote. Enjoy!
