Join us in Clemmons, NC on the weekend of February 16th-18th for the 2024 LPNC Convention where we will toast Cheers to Rebellion! Everyone wants to live their own lives their own way, for their own needs, and according to their own values. Join the Libertarian Party of North Carolina, the only political party that leaves your life choices where they belong... with you!
We'll be meeting at the Village Inn Hotel and Event Center for a weekend of business, enlightening speakers, and fun activities such as a New Silent Auction and a Photo Booth! Tickets include all convention activities, plus a catered Gala on Saturday. We will also have a Friday evening reception from 7pm-10pm.
Platform Committee Report
The Platform Committee has completed their report.
Debate on this report will be one of the two major business items of the Convention. The other is the election of Delegates from North Carolina for the 2024 Libertarian National Committee.
We urge all LPNC members, particularly those attending the Convention, to read the report and come prepared to offer meaningful suggestions on how to improve it.
Ticketing
All those in attendance must have a ticket and will be given a ribbon at registration. Only party members can be made delegates or alternates and only delegates and alternates can vote. Membership criteria for the Libertarian Party of North Carolina can be found here.

This session will be available February 17, 2024 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. This is an option for those driving in for the day to participate in only the voting portion of the convention.

Gala tickets need to be purchased by February 12th at 11:59pm. There is a deadline for total meals that we must submit to the venue on the 12th.

Speakers
Eric Rowell
The LPNC's own Eric Rowell be kicking off the convention as our first speaker. Eric Rowell is a strong advocate for thinking and acting locally. He has long opposed the corrupt practice of asset forfeiture and is working to stop local law enforcement across NC from participating in the program. He is a graduate of NC State University and is a licensed attorney. Eric is a native of North Carolina and lives with his family in Huntersville.
Michael Gibson
The LPNC is excited to announce that Michael Gibson will be the keynote speaker for this year's annual state convention. Gibson is the co-founder of the venture capital fund 1517, which is devoted to backing dropouts and people who never stepped foot on a college campus. Before his academic apostasy, he was working towards a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Oxford. He has written on innovation and technology for MIT’s Technology Review, National Review, the Atlantic, and City Journal. Gibson is the author of the book Paper Belt on Fire: How Renegade Investors Sparked a Revolt Against the University (reviewed in the April 2023 Tar Heel). He was also the featured guest on Season 3 Episode 4 of Liberty iNC.
Dan Smotz
Dan Smotz is the "disgruntled freedom propagandist", responsible for videos like The Road to Hell, War is Over, War is Gay, The Takeover, The Crazy Ones, and You Are the Power. Dan is a loving father, artist, musician, designer, and the host of the podcast, The System is Down. Dan's video work has been featured in liberty-centric campaigns for Jeremy Kauffman, Spike Cohen, Jo Jorgensen, Vermin Supreme, the Mises Caucus, Angela McArdle, and many more.
