Speakers and Panel Discussions

Joshua Eakle and Justin Cornett, members of the Libertarian Party of Tennessee, will share their unique approach to outreach through their weeknight radio program, Speaking Freely.

Joshua Eakle is the Chairman of the Knox County Libertarian Party and the founder of RECURO.org, a media site created to promote liberty-minded ideas on Tennessee politics and beyond. In his day job, Joshua works as the Director of Marketing for Worldwide Equipment Corporate. He currently holds an Associates Degree with a focus in Political Science.

Justin Cornett is the Regional Coordinator for the Libertarian Party of Tennessee and Director for the ETNLP. He currently works as a Property & Casualty Insurance Agent with Allstate. In his free time, Justin likes playing basketball, arguing politics, and enjoying nature. His latest project is a team effort on a radio show called "Speaking Freely," a show which intends to spoil the "regular Joe's" loyalty to the two party system.

Learn more about Speaking Freely and listen to archived shows on their website or their Facebook page.

As the 2018 election season swings into full gear, it is essential that we do what we can to support Libertarians running for every level of office in North Carolina. Want to learn how? Listen to Tim Smario and David Ulmer as they describe the Candidate Accelerator Program developed for Wake County. The Wake LP has built a network of support for candidates in their area so when a candidate files, a team is ready to help them campaign. Learn what has worked and has not worked as well as hoped. Dig in to the nitty-gritty of crafting a concise Libertarian message, and learn how to target and spread that message as effectively as possible. Discover tips and techniques to help Libertarian candidates make an impact during election season.

Want to hear more about running for office in North Carolina? Join the conversation with our panel of both current and former Libertarian candidates for office (PLUS a Libertarian currently holding public office!). Listen to their experiences campaigning and their reflections on the experience, and pose questions about how to best help our 2018 candidates in their bid for office.

Panel members include Brian Irving, Christopher Nance, JJ Summerell, and Olen Watson.
