Special election gives eastern N.C. voters a chance to choose
RALEIGH (April 26) -- The Libertarian candidates for U.S. Congress in North Carolina’s 3rd District, Shannon Bray and Tim Harris, will debate Sunday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. in an online forum.
The Libertarian Party of North Carolina (LPNC) will host the debate, and Libertarian National Committee Chairman Nicholas Sarwark will moderate.

The two candidates are seeking the Libertarian Party nomination in the April 30 primary election. If no party’s primary ends in a runoff, the special general election will take place July 9. The special election will fill the seat vacated when U.S. Representative Walter Jones died in February.
In another special election, Jeff Scott is unopposed as the Libertarian nominee for the U.S. Congress in North Carolina’s 9th District. Scott was a candidate in the 2018 general election for that seat, which was invalidated following revelations of election fraud, and he remains the nominee for the special general election scheduled for September 10.
