Know Your Rights

when being pulled over and at checkpoints

The next Haywood County Libertarian Party meeting, Aug. 11, 7 p.m. Bear Waters Brewery, will be an analysis of your rights during a traffic stop (and those now oh-so common checkpoints we run into on the road).  While, yes, we have a duty first and foremost to stay alive, might we also have a responsibility to actively prevent distortions of justice especially when it is at the hands of those who are supposed to uphold the law when we are stopped?  

Government mistrust is high because we know the system is broken and corrupt.  Law enforcement corruption is a trickle down effect of the corruption starting with the law makers.  Come educate yourself on your rights and discuss possible solutions for the epidemic of police brutality.
