Just when it didn’t seem possible that North Carolina’s election laws could get more restrictive, the Republican majority has come up with a massive bill that would make it even harder for people to vote. The Libertarian Party of North Carolina Executive Committee will be sponsoring a series of regional workshops around the state to conduct political campaign type activities.

These workshops will be held in addition to the committee’s business meetings.

The idea is for the executive committee to conduct some sort of political campaigning activity when we meet, rather than just hear reports. Vice chair Alex Vuchnich proposed this plan. and it was approved at the June 29 Executive Committee meeting.

The Libertarian Party applauds the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision today to strike the Defense of Marriage Act, a federal law that discriminates against non-heterosexual marriages.

Liberty in action was the theme and focus of the Libertarian Party annual state convention held in Flat Rock over the weekend.

J.J. The tax reform plan announced by state Sen. Phil Berger is just another charade designed to make citizens think Republicans are actually reducing taxes. Calling it the Tax Fairness Act and claiming it’s the largest tax cut in state history is misleading at best.
