Execomm Elections Coming Soon
A great way to get involved with the Libertarian Party of North Carolina
(LPNC) is to serve on the Executive Committee. Execomm members serve two-year
terms, and will be elected at the state convention coming up in Charlotte,
tentatively set for May 3, 1997. (see the next issue of Tarheel Libertarian
for full details on the convention)
The Execomm is made up of 13 members. Currently, there are eight officers
(Chair, Vice-Chair, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary,
Editor of the Tarheel Libertarian, Press Secretary, and Ballot Access Coordinator).
A new position, Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator, was created at the
1996 convention, and will be filled for the first time this year. This
leaves four seats for members at large. The committee meets roughly every
six weeks to conduct the business of the LPNC.
Each executive committe member is expected to attend executive committe

Anyone who wishes more information about serving on the Execomm can
contact our Chair, Chris Spruyt, at (919)834-5985. He has developed an
Executive Comittee Manual which goes into greater detail about the responsibilities
of Execomm members.
A place on the LPNC Execomm might sound like a fair amount of work
at first, but most who all of those who have served have found it to be
a fun and positive experience. We'll need some fresh faces next two years,
so think about your special talents and how you can put them to use for
the cause of liberty!
