Howe applauds Vinroot decision
Richard Vinroot did an admirable thing Thursday by not seeking a
run-off for the Republican nomination for governor, said Barbara Howe,
Libertarian candidate for governor. "Not only has he saved the taxpayers a
truck load full of money by not insisting on a run-off, he has given the
voters of North Carolina an extra month to focus on the November
election."
Howe had no challenger for the Libertarian nomination and will now face
incumbent Mike Easley and GOP nominee Patrick Ballantine. "I look forward
to participating in the race because the three of us share separate
visions for where North Carolina needs to go."
Howe said her campaign will focus on restoring a limited government to
North Carolina, one that respects peaceful individuals as able to live
their lives without interference from government.
"We have a government that is simply out of control," said Howe. "It
taxes too much, regulates too much, and gives too much money to
well-connected corporations."
"I intend to work to let North Carolina citizens take charge of their
own lives."
