My sweetie and I were in Orlando just two weeks ago. It's a lovely city and my heart breaks for all people in it today.

Love everybody. Tell those you love about it, because you never know when that will be the last chance you get to say it to them.

Get the murder out of your heart and encourage others to do the same. We can argue with each other without encouraging violence against those with whom we disagree.

In order to truly put an end to gun violence, the first step is to reject the politics of division. When you vilify any group of people at all, you are contributing directly to the culture of mass murder.

I say this to everyone all across the political spectrum: We must give up our culture wars right now. That is the only way out of this mess.

To all my gay and lesbian and whatever else friends, I love you. I want you to be safe, to be free to live your lives in peace.

To all my Muslim friends, I love you. I want you as well to be safe, to be free to live your lives in peace.

To my Christian conservative friends, yes, I love you too. I want you to be safe, to be free to live your lives in peace too.

To everyone else, and I do mean absolutely everyone else, I say the same.

We can and must accept the truth that simply being American is enough for all of us to share a common bond of loyalty and friendship, despite any other differences we may have.

America lives up to its best ideals when all its citizens are free to live their lives in peace, according to their own conscience.

To solve this problem of political mass murder, each one of us, as individuals, must take the first step. Love everybody. Thank you.
