The Libertarian Party of North Carolina Executive Committee will be sponsoring a series of regional workshops around the state to conduct political campaign type activities.

These workshops will be held in addition to the committee’s business meetings.

The idea is for the executive committee to conduct some sort of political campaigning activity when we meet, rather than just hear reports. Vice chair Alex Vuchnich proposed this plan. and it was approved at the June 29 Executive Committee meeting.

Activities will be determined by need, but could include phone banking, envelope stuffing, script or letter writing, data entry, attendance at festivals, fairs and local events, and door-to-door canvassing.

The times and locations of the regional workshops will also be determined by need. The EC will also hold business meetings once a quarter, in addition to the workshops.

Here is the tentative schedule:

Saturday, August 17

Regional Workshop – Membership outreach (phone banking)

Saturday, September 21

Executive Committee Board Meeting (Raleigh)

Saturday, October 19

Regional Workshop – Candidate support (Canvassing)

Saturday, November 16

Regional Workshop (2014 Budget Retreat)

Saturday, December 14

Executive Committee Board Meeting (Greensboro)

Saturday, January 18

Executive Committee Board Meeting (Charlotte)

Not all executive committee members will attend each workshop. The idea is to have EC members in that region attend, lead the activity, and encourage local party activists to join them. The concept will be to have workshops going in more than one region on the same day.

Ideally, we could have a regional workshop in Charlotte, Wilmington, and Raleigh on August 17, all working on phone banking.
