Communicating Libertarianism Effectively

Our speaker will be Ashley Smith, who has worked extensively on leadership development and communication effectiveness across the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

A die-hard libertarian in the Rothbard tradition, he has adopted a philosophy of embracing practical libertarianism within the framework of the existing system as part of a long-term strategic plan for change. Acknowledging that every libertarian brings a different set of skills to the liberty movement, Smith's primary goal is organizing and uniting various efforts towards a common goal while respecting the values and individualism that makes libertarians unique.

In the past he has worked as both a Director of Communications and Marketing and a Director of Development, Fundraising and Marketing for a major nonprofit; in various capacities with the US Air Force; and currently works as a project manager directing cultural change programs and budget-cutting solutions for the Air Force. Smith offers pro-bono and paid consulting to organizations on Change Management and Effective Communication.

Dinner will be chosen and purchased by each attendee.

RSVP if you are coming so we will have some idea about expected attendance (the restaurant can expand our meeting room if necessary). And please invite any of your friends who might be interested to know about this opportunity and/or share the event via social media—it is posted on Facebook and Meetup.com—to help raise awareness about the Cleveland-Gastonia LP. Thanks!
