Spring will be here tomorrow morning at 5:48 am. The LPNC annual convention is not far behind. Don't forget to register for this important event. The convention will be held in Burlington, NC on April 11-13.
It's possible our nightmarish ballot drive will be complete and we will have much to celebrate as we gather in Burlington to "Let Freedom Ring."
No matter what the status of the ballot drive is, we will get down to doing the business of the Libertarian Party of North Carolina.
We will be making changes to the LPNC Platform. The Platform Committee has been hard at work and their report will be made available soon so you will have the opportunity to make informed decisions in Burlington.
We will be nominating candidates for statewide and other offices, including the most important office of Governor. Most important, because the race for Governor will determine whether or not we have to tackle another ballot drive after this 2008 election. Come participate in this important decision.
Delegates to the LPNC Convention will also have the opportunity to meet several of the LP presidential candidates. Invites have gone out to all candidates. At this time, we expect George Phillies, Daniel Imperato, and Mary Ruwart to attend. Come grill them about their campaigns for president.
We will also be choosing our delegates to the national convention to be held in Denver May 22-26.
The Saturday night banquet speaker is Dallas Woodhouse, State Director of Americans for Prosperity. He will be sharing with us his vision of "Fighting for Libertarian Principles in Government."
Additional guests include Bill Redpath, National Chair of the LP, and Bob Barr, our Region 4 LNC Representative.
