Keith Smith for US House District 11

Platform information:

Besides the obvious goal of stopping the federal government's intrusion into your personal lives, my campaign has 5 goals:

  1. To make western NC the Silicon Valley of future technologies such as Hydrogen fuel cell manufacturers and solar panel manufacturing.
  2. To encourage high wage companies such as automotive companies to locate in western NC.
  3. To help individuals and small businesses find information that their tax money has paid for such as the USDA provides or to find out about the Small Business Administration programs.
  4. To bring home our district's fair share of all the pork barrel spending that is going on until somebody puts an end to all of the Bridge to Nowhere type programs.
  5. To convince my party to change tactics and focus on strategic, winnable races instead of the "get on the ballot to make a great speech about what we stand for campaign" which has never resulted in a single meaningful victory in 37 years. What they've been doing is ultimately harmful in that by never winning it causes the media and potential voters to not take us seriously.

I might make some of the usual yap yaps of my Party mad but at least I live in the real world and not some theoretical never never land of a never won any political race of any importance world that they inhabit.

The whole gospel of Karl Marx can be summed up in a single sentence: Hate the man who is better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others. Never under any circumstances admit that your own failure may be owing to your own weakness, or that the failure of anyone else may be due to his own defects -- his laziness, incompetence, improvidence, or stupidity. -- Henry Hazlitt
